Bloggers Unite:Animal Abuse = new kitty
In response to the Bloggers Unite on animal abuse, our family decided to adopt Oreo. Well it was something we had talked about for a while. My duaghter Emily has been pleading for a kitty for a while now. She has promised to take care of the little one.
It’s been interesting to say the least. Oreo does not fit the norm of other cats we’ve had in the past. She is fearless to say the least and can’t seem to get enough attention. The biggest plus is that she is driving our son Joe absolutely batty.
You see Joe can’t handle something he can’t control, and this cat just wouldn’t leave him be. Where ever he goes, she follows.
We adopted a cat for a few reasons. First the city that we live in is having a hard time funding their animal shelters. So when we adopted Oreo we also made a donation. We would have liked a dog but the subdivision we live in doesn’t really allow them. Last but not least it’s what Emily wanted with a passion.
To be honest this cat is very strange, it has no fear of water. and there are a few other strange behaviors. We have all fallen for her and she is a very nice addition to our family. And the strange part… all the better! she’s feeling right at home.
One last note you don’t have to go as far as we did, donate to your local shelter they need your support.

We adopted our cat Gengus Kitty 3 months ago from my SPCA. I volunteer there one day a week to walk dogs and never imagined I would fall for a cat. Then one day another volunteer mentioned “Kitty - A cat who gets along with birds.”
Now we have a bird (Peetie), Velvet and Albert (big dog, little dog) and Gengus (BIG 18 lb cat.)
We have never been happier … Gengus sleeps by my pillow and purrs me to sleep every night …
Who will be next to add a new friend to their pack???
