Janice may get to work from home

I am kind of excited, you see the company my wife works for is shutting down the Wichita office. That sounds bad, and it is but the good news is they are allowing a group of the employees work from home. She’ll make more than she does now, plus we will all get to spend more time with her. It’s not official yet, we hope to find out more on Wednesday.

Also Emily has been progressing very nicely with her school work, I feel really bad because she pretty much lost her summer, but she is almost caught back up. Pulling her from public school was the best thing for her. I almost can’t believe how good she is at math, only 7 years old and she’s starting to understand multiplication. The public school didn’t even know she was an ace when it came to mathematics. I mentioned ClicknRead on an earlier post, it really is working for her very well.

I just launched a new project this last week BloggerBarter. I am looking for participators, so if you like to blog and know a bit about blogging I encourage you to check it out.

I learnt something interesting about Joe this last week. I’ve always known he was a big Harry Potter fan but this just blew my mind. I asked him what he spends most of online time doing, I thought for sure he was going to say gaming. I was so wrong, turns out he has read almost every Harry Potter story on fan fiction. So I went to take a peak, just how many stories could there be. To my shock over 4000! But now I understand why he is such a good writer, he reads both the good and the very, very bad. He got the latest book a few days ago and read it in all in one day.

I’ve been very busy the last week; however I have little to show for it. Last week I finally released two of my WordPress themes. The first one I have been unable to upload it to the ThemeViewer. I have no ideal why, but every time I upload it, it displays a blank screenshot, and the preview on their site does the same…..

The second theme I’ve named Loopy Blue. That one is working on the ThemeViewer site. It’s only been downloaded 116 times. I guess it wasn’t as good as I thought.

Joe will be starting this new program tonight where he will be doing ride-a-longs with the Sedgwick sheriff’s department. He is very excited about this. Up till the last few months he could not decide what he wanted to do with his future. Tonight will, I’m sure help him decide if this is the right direction.

I still think he would make a great writer, who knows maybe somewhere down the road he’ll pick it up again. Till then may he’ll be happy being the fuzz, flatfoot, copper, the man…. Dare I say doughnut eating oinker.. Just kidding, but he does like dougnuts.

Emily has been using a new site I thought I should share. Click-n-Read is a kind of hocked on phonics site. If you home school your little ones and are having a hard time teaching them to read you should check it out.

First the bad news; I failed again. I’m back to smoking. I am very unhappy with myself for this. It’s not the first time I tried and failed. I plan to try again in a few weeks with one or two small changes. gum, patch,…

Well we have had a good day. The whole family was home, including Peter with his grassy null hair cut… Not sure what that’s all about. I guess it’s a sign to my age that I don’t understand the strange behavior of my son.
